so picture this, ur only son whom youv raised as a single mother and did everything possible to make his life easier, struggled finanically so he was better off, and always put him before urself never graduates high school(extremely stupid mistake of mine) then proceeds to tell you that he is gonna gamble for a living(poker of coarse haha). most parents would smack the shit out of their child and say u cant gamble for a living and ur going to school. however for some reason my mother never did that, even tho she didnt agree with my decisions she stood behind me all the way, for one of my birthdays she actually gave me 50 bucks in an envelope labeled poker funds haha. She trusted my thoughts and beliefs even tho she didnt understand all of them. She knew i was a smart and guided kid that never gave up on what he wanted. I guess she knew she raised me to REACH FOR THE STARS and figured thats what i was doing. I dunno but whatever the reason thanks mom. the next time someone gives u a hard time about playing poker dont get upset like i used to because most just dont understand how it works.

1st post. quick catch up on my background
as my first post the reason im creating this blog is so people can follow my progress up the poker ladder and to give some feedback to players who are aspiring to play for a living as well. When i was grinding the lowest stakes available i always wanted to read players blogs and posts to learn and get better so i feel i should show some love and give back to the poker community. Aside from all that ill give u a quick catch up of my poker career up to this point. I started playing when i was in high school like everyone else becauz of mr. moneymaker and the poker boom. I learned quickly and consistantly won but never had any bankroll skills. Therefore i consistantly went broke, ive prob went broke over a 100 times haha. In August of 07 i finally exercised money management and never have had to redeposit again after the $450 i put on the site. I grinded the small stakes while working at a grocery store near my home(funny thing is Luke "IWEARGOGGLES" Staudenmaier worked there with me, haha), and no grocery stores dont produced great poker players haha, in april of 08 i quit there cauz i couldnt stand it and was promised a good job with a union which never panned out, my plans at the time was to take that job and keep building my bankroll, however i was quickly thrown into the rough world of playing poker for a living. I grinded 50nl for almost a yr before i switched to tournaments. I made about 10,300 at 50nl so not a great income by any means, plus the fact that u have to cashout every month to pay the bills u can imagine how hard it is to build a roll. However i found tournaments to be alot funner and my aggressive balls to the wall approach worked better for them. i played small and mid stakes tourneys on fulltilt for the next couple months earning roughly 3 grand a month. I knew it would take a big score in a Sunday event b4 i could consistantly make big money. In the 1st week of april of 09 I won a satellite into the 750k on fulltilt which i placed 5th in for 32,180, all the hard work paid off and it feels good to stand tall after a big score. I know this post was probly pretty boring but i wanted to let everyone get a feel for my background. thanx alot
